Zehara Nachash, known as the “Bright Serpent,” is a fourth-generation Witch, author, and modern-day Snake Priestess with over two decades of experience in the mystical and esoteric arts. A lifelong witchcraft practitioner, her path is deeply rooted in ancestral folk traditions and enriched by her studies in Ceremonial Magick, Gnosticism, and New Orleans Voodoo.
Zehara is the founder of The Voodoo Witch, where she creates ritual tools, spirit bottles, and handcrafted pieces using ethically sourced materials such as animal bones and shed snakeskin—each imbued with intention, transformation, and spiritual purpose. As a professional Tarot reader, Reiki Master, and clairsentient medium, she has guided countless individuals through personal growth, healing, and spiritual awakening.
In 2012, Zehara was called to the path of New Orleans Voodoo, beginning a journey of study, devotion, and service that would become an integral part of her spiritual life. She is currently a Khouzhan Premye and a member of the House of the Nine Mysteries, within the spiritual family of Fleurette-Beauchamp, under the guidance of Mambo Samantha Corfield.
Zehara is also an initiate of the Temple of the Seekers, where her earlier training helped lay the foundation for her spiritual and magickal practice. Over the years, her work within New Orleans Voodoo has deepened her relationship with spirit, ancestral devotion, ritual, and the sacred traditions that continue to shape her path.

Zehara is also the founder of the Pagans Behind Bars Project, a nonprofit initiative providing spiritual support to incarcerated Pagans and Wiccans. Through her teaching, writing, and ritual work, she empowers others to embrace their own magick, awaken their inner wisdom, and walk the transformative path of the serpent.
